Today I became a shadow. That is not too bad because I will be the shadow of Kim – and Kim is a sun. She is the medical focal point of the partner organisation on the Aquarius called Medecins Sans Frontieres or Doctors Without Borders, short: MSF. A shadow of a 1,60 tall woman is not too bad for a 1,98 tall an although I am supposed do some other important things than shadowing as a communication officer for SOSMEDITERRANEE also. But my shadow presence is limited during a situation nobody really wants here on board the only civil rescue vessel in the Mediterranean Sea in front of Libya – the announcement of the so called Mass Casualty Plan. That applies during a rescue operation if there is  more than one human in serious medical need while we rescue people in distress. So today we trained all procedures again, who is…
